Fine Jewelry Care Instructions
The life span of your new Lira Fashion Jewelry will depend on the type of care you give it. We are providing you with some care instructions to help you keep your fine jewelry looking good as new.
General Care for fine Jewelry
We advise you not put on your jewelry on until you have gotten all dressed and have finished applying any cosmetics products, hairspray, perfume, lotions etc. These products can tarnish and harm your fine jewelry.
Clean your fine jewelry after each wear with the soft cloth which we have provided to you with your purchase before putting it away. This will remove any oils from your skin and debris that was picked up throughout the day and help prevent from your fine jewelry from getting tarnished.
Never sleep with your fine jewelry on because this can cause unnecessary stress on the types of metals and the gems stones that is used throughout the designing process of our fine jewelry collection, this may cause it to bend, and loosen up and break the precious gemstones used to design the piece.
Always remove your fine jewelry before doing any type of household chores dish washing, when swimming in pools and salt water, using hot tubs, suntan and sunblock lotions, taking a shower, and using other chemicals such as alcohol, ammonia, bleach, chlorine, acetone, hairspray, perfume and cosmetics etc. Remember that all of the items indicated above contain harsh chemicals that are very harmful for your fine jewelry.
Always store your fine jewelry in a cool, dry place and away from direct sunlight when you’re not wearing your fine jewelry. Also keep your fine jewelry pieces separated from other items in order to avoid any scratching. We recommend storying your fine jewelry in small jewelry pouch or zip-lock bag, when storing it squeeze out the air before sealing the pouch or zip-lock bag.
Swarovski Crystal Jewelry
A soft, lint-free cloth can be used to restore the brilliant sparkle of Swarovski® Crystal. Simply hold the cloth between your thumb and fingers and roll the crystals back and forth, continuing along the piece until you have cleaned them all.
If they require more than just cleaning with a cloth, you can use a soft, moist cloth or even baby wipes to clean them.
Murano Glass Jewelry

How to Store Your Jewelry
To prevent your jewelry from accumulating dust, always store it in its original jewelry box. This will also prevent it from being damaged or lost. If you want to combine another piece of jewelry in the same box, then make sure to wrap each one with a soft tissue paper. This way your jewelry does not become tangled.
Cleaning Your Jewelry
Clean your jewelry regularly. For best results, use a polishing cloth to keep your jewelry clean. You may also use a soft cotton fabric. Avoid using water to clean your jewelry, which can potentially damage the polish.
How to Prevent Your Jewelry from Getting Damaged
Keep your jewelry safe by avoiding any contact of perfume and hairspray, which can potentially tarnish the piece of jewelry. If you are applying makeup, it’s best to wait to put on jewelry until after you are done. Do not wear jewelry in the shower, swimming pool, or when playing sports.
Sterling Silver Jewelry
The first important way to keep jewelry from tarnishing is to keep it clean. If you put it away tarnished, the tarnish will worsen during storage.
Avoid abrasive polishes, dips or scrubbing tools. And remember, dips and commercial jewelry cleaning products will remove the antique patina and any oxidized detailing on silver, gold and copper.
For minor cleaning, use a soft silver polishing cloth.
Do not dry sterling silver with paper towels or tissues because they can scratch the silver. Always use a soft cloth.

A diluted solution of mild dish liquid and water can be used to clean your silver jewelry. Be sure that you dry it thoroughly removing all traces of moisture before putting it away.
Gold-Filled Jewelry
Lightly clean it using mild dish soap, water and a soft toothbrush. Be sure to dry it thoroughly when done with a soft cloth. You may also like to let it air dry for a time before putting it away.

Brighten it up with a jewelry polishing cloth.
Copper Jewelry
Copper tarnishes over time just like silver. If you like the antique patina, you can just keep it clean by wiping it with a soft cloth. Remember, dips and commercial jewelry cleaning products will remove the antique patina and any oxidized detailing on silver, gold and copper.

Glass Bead Jewelry
Glass beads can be cleaned with mild dish soap and warm water. Dry them thoroughly with a soft cloth before putting them away. You may also wish to air dry them for a time to be sure there is no moisture remaining in the bead holes.
Freshwater Pearl and Shell Jewelry
Freshwater pearls and Shell Jewelry are very delicate and can be easily scratched or damaged. They can also be damaged by extreme dryness, but never immerse them completely in water. An occasional cleaning with a moist, soft cloth is best.
Be sure to avoid chemicals like alcohol, ammonia, bleach, chlorine, acetone, hairspray, perfume and cosmetics.
Do not use a silver polishing cloth on pearls.
Semi-Precious Gemstone Jewelry
Do not use dips or abrasive cleaners on gemstones.
Do not use an ultrasonic cleaner, ammonia or other chemical solution to clean opaque gemstones like onyx, turquoise, and opals. These stones are porous and may absorb the chemicals causing discoloration.
Do not immerse your semi-precious gemstone jewelry in water.
Wipe them gently with a moist cloth and then dry them with a soft, lint-free cloth before putting them away.
Do not store semi-precious gemstones in direct sunlight.
Aluminum Jewelry
Aluminum is a lightweight metal that will not tarnish, rust, or turn your skin green like some other metals. But that doesn’t mean aluminum doesn’t require any care to stay shiny and bright. Here are instruction
Be sure to keep your aluminum jewelry away from destructive chemicals to prevent your jewelry from oxidizing and losing luster. Take off your aluminum rings and bracelets while cleaning, staining wood, or doing other tasks that involve chemicals. Be aware that the darkened stamped areas can fade if your jewelry is worn while swimming, showering, washing dishes, etc. Like all jewelry, it tends to not like
water.
Horn Jewelry
Even though horn jewelry stand moisture a little bit better than wooden jewelry you still have to remove horn jewels before showering, going to the sauna or taking a swim.
Jewelry that has been made of horn can easily be cleaned with mild soap and by wiping the jewels with a soft cloth. It is also recommended that you polish your horn jewelry with oil every now and then.
Polymer Clay Jewelry
Our polymer clay jewelry are very durable and lightweight. In order to maintain it in great condition, here are some care instructions to keep your clay earrings in top shape!
Every pair of earrings, necklaces, pendants or bracelets are handmade, and are very detailed surface. Please treat and store your jewelry with care. Do not bend the earrings, if you are not wearing them, place them on an earring rack or store them in a jewelry box in its own compartment. Find a cool and dry spot for them!
To clean your earrings if dust gets on them, you can use a cotton ear bud, wet it slightly with water and wipe the surface of your earring.
Please avoid wearing the polymer clay earrings when showering or in the water. It should also be kept away from hair styling products, makeup and perfume and sprays that can stain the earring.
Wood Jewelry
How to take care of your wooden jewelry. If your planning of getting wet, taking a shower, going to a sauna or to swim. Please remove all of your wooden jewelry.
You can take care of your pieces of wooden jewelry by cleaning them with mild soap water and then oiling them afterwards. Oils that are suitable for this purpose are among others coconut oil, olive oil or any other kind of natural oil. By oiling your wooden jewelry you keep the wood from cracking and the surface of the jewelry stays beautiful.
Coconut Shell Jewelry
How to take care of your delicate coconut shell jewelry, here are how you can take care of your coconut shell jewelry. It is recommended for you to simply wipe it with a soft wet clothe instead of using It’s better to simply wipe it with soft wet clothe instead of using abrasive materials. The use of chemicals or water should be avoided as it will cause drying out and it would possibly crack. In order to prevent your coconut shell jewelry from drying out, use some mild coconut or vegetable oil. Never soak it in water or any chemical as it will dry out and swell consequently. Try to put the least pressure as coconut shells cannot resist huge amount of pressure and should be handled gently.
Leather Accessories Care
It’s really as simple as keeping it clean, dry and regularly moisturizing it. Just like skin, a leather bag needs regular (preferably daily) moisturizing to protect it. There are many products available for moisturizing leather, but for day to day maintenance a dab of sunflower or vegetable oil rubbed over the bag evenly with a clean dry cloth is all it really needs. There are also moisturizers available that will help a little with water resistance.
What happens to your leather bag with time?
As your bag ages, the leather will lose natural moisture and oils. The leather will crack and the fibers can break if the leather becomes too dry. The more use your bag gets, the more likely this is to happen.
Tips on how to maintain your leather accessories:
When using a new product on your leather bag, always spot test first in an unseen area (e.g. the underneath of the bag). Apply a small amount of the treatment as directed and leave for at least 24 hours to ensure that it doesn’t adversely affect the color or texture of the leather before applying to the visible areas of the bag.
Never use baby wipes or any other product that may contain lanolin.
If you decide to use a waterproofing product for your bag, we strongly recommend first using a care product or moisturizer to lock in the moisture, keeping the fibers and skin supple before coating with the water proofer. Only apply the waterproofing product to the exposed areas of the bag (keep the inside untreated so that you can still moisturize the leather from the back).
Scratches and scrapes are inevitable and a little care when putting your bag down and avoiding sharp objects is always a good idea, but with everyday use of your bag, they are virtually unavoidable. There are a few tips and tricks however to help avoid or treat minor scratches and scrapes.
Applying clear ‘natural’ boot polish, vaseline or saddle soap can add a protective layer that will help to minimize small scratches. If you do get a small scratch on your bag, rub the area with your fingers as the natural oils can help to cover it. For larger scratches, adding a tiny drop of oil and allowing it to soak in for a few minutes before buffing with a soft cloth to remove any excess can often help. If the scratches remain noticeable, then a leather dye or polish may be the best solution (again, always test this on an unseen area). Be Aware: Any dye or polish that you treat the bag with is highly likely to change the color of the bag, try a small hidden area first before treating the whole bag.
